Thursday, February 26: 7 AM – 4 PM
Tear Down: Sunday, March 1: 5 PM – 12 AM and Monday, March 2: 7 AM – 4 PM
Show hours on Sunday do not end until 5 PM. As a policy, Exhibitors that pack up early during show hours may be banned from exhibiting at future events. The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex provides (2) parking passes per exhibiting company. A parking fee is not charged during set up days. Parking passes will be distributed upon Exhibitor Check-In during event set-up.
The Pennsylvania Garden Expo management team respectfully asks that you do not park in locations that would be considered near the entrance to the North Hall during show hours. We realize that this involves a longer walk to the entrance of the building but we need to save as many parking spaces as possible for our attendees. We all want happy attendees so please be considerate.
Maximum of 6 badges per Exhibitor will be issued. Please submit names prior to the event. Badges will be distributed upon Exhibitor Check-In during event set-up.
Electric is available at all booths. You MUST supply your own power strip AND extension cords.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex offers free wireless internet services throughout the facility. As with any Wi-Fi service, the connectivity level will vary due to your location and other variables. While the service is free, we cannot guarantee that it will always be available. IF YOU REQUIRE INTERNET TO CONDUCT BUSINESS, WE STRONLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU INSTALL A WIRED CONNECTION. Contact our Expo Manager, Jess at 717-932-1487 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on obtaining a wired internet connection.
BOOTH DECORATION & ACCESSORIES
Tables, chairs, and carpeting are not included in your booth fee but may be ordered through the show decorator at your cost. Service is provided by General Exposition Services. Show Decorator Kit Link. Use password Garden15.
DRAYAGE: The contracted show decorator General Exposition Services is equipped to handle your shipments of product to the PA Farm Show Complex. This is an optional service and complete details may be found by accessing the decorator kit
The Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex’s caterer will provide a daily delivery of ice to your booth if arranged in advance. The cost is $6/bag.
All sound producing or amplifying devices must be kept at an appropriate level so as to not interfere with surrounding exhibitors.
No propane tanks or use of propane inside hall, no lit candles or open flames of any time are permitted by order of the Fire Marshall.
SOLICITATION / SALES LITERATURE
No sales solicitation or distribution of literature outside of your contracted booth space.
When offering sampling, demonstrations, or giveaways, your booth must be arranged so that attendees coming into your exhibit do not block aisles or overlap into neighboring exhibits. Aisles are property of all exhibitors; therefore, each exhibitor has the responsibility to assure proper flow of traffic through the entire expo.
PA SALES TAX
The department of revenue will be visiting the show to be sure that they have all of the tax information that they need. Please be sure to provide your tax ID number in advance to avoid any issues at the show.
The State of Pennsylvania requires that any exhibitor selling merchandise obtain a permanent Pennsylvania sales tax license. If you intend to sell merchandise at this event you must provide us with your PA Sales Tax number. We are required by state law to provide an Exhibitor listing to the PA Department of Revenue. If you have any questions or need tax forms please visit their website:
NARI of Central PA has made arrangements with the Staybridge Suites Hotel which is located at the entrance to the Farm Show Complex. They are offering a King or Queen bedded room at $101 per night and a room with two beds at $111 per night. Rate will include a full hot breakfast each morning. To book, call 717-233-3304. The room block is under PA Garden Expo.
Secrets to Success
Three must know secrets for a successful show:
What’s for sale here?
During the crucial first minutes where you’re checking out the attendee, they’re checking you out. They are, perhaps unconciously, assessing what they perceive as your intentions and motivations. Few people believe that they can get a good deal from someone they do not believe to be a good person.
Secret: People have to ‘buy’ you before they can buy your products.
Can you hear what I’m saying?
Standing at the corner of your booth exhibit with your arms folded tells attendees “Stay away! I’m on guard.” Sitting down, flipping through a magazine, or chatting with colleagues says “I’ve got better things to do.” All togther, it means “You’re not important to me,” even if you ask the attendees what you can do for them today.
Secret: People won’t come in if your body language says “Go away!”
The Wall of Noise
Talking is important, but listening is more so. Shift the focus from your own sales spiel to actually listening to the customer and you’ll find your results immediately improve. Ask attendees questions, and listen to their answers. Give them your full attention. Hear what they’re saying and offer appropriate responses.
Secret: Focus on the attendee for maximum results.
Gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts plan to attend the Pennsylvania Garden Expo to experience the incredible gardens, talk with landscape and design experts, shop Market Faire for all-things garden and listen to presentations on a variety of garden-related topics.
If your company sells a product or service to this very targeted audience, you should exhibit at this event!
